Rugby Union World Cup: the results of our international players

The 2019 Rugby Union World Cup, played in Japan, is now well under way and the first games provided drama and emotion.

Concerning the France team, only Charles Ollivon was included into the group for the game against Argentina, last Saturday. France were rampant in the first half, but struggled in the second to eventually snatch a 23-21 win, which bodes well for the future.

Springbok Eben Etzebeth, the new Toulon recruit, faced a tough challenge against the All Blacks, the reigning champions. Despite a hard-fought game, New Zealand won 23-13 and South Africa will play their second game against Namibia, next Saturday.

Italy saw off Namibia 47-22, last Sunday. The Azzuri, captained by new Toulon recruit Sergio Parisse, scored seven tries against Namibia’s three.

Georgia played against Wales, with Mamuka Gorgodze and Beka Gigashvili starting the game. Despite a strong second half, they lost 43-14 against the team coached by Warren Gatland.
